I figured an update is in order.
Eating without sugar has been going well. For the most part, there is still a lot of delicious things I can eat. Ice cream, however, is not one of them. Which is sad.
Exercising hasn't been going well. My knee has been hurting lately - the pain started before I decided to be more intentional about exercise. I was doing really well on the exercising the first few days, but now my knee hurts even more. To the point that I wince every time I get up, sit down, go up or down stairs, and a bit when I walk. It's particularly bad in the morning. So who knows what that is about. But it hurts too much to really truly exercise.
Still, though, I've made some delicious food. And have completely forgotten to take pictures of all of it.
But -
Whole grain oats with an apple and cinnamon is a great breakfast. It's like apple pie in the morning.
Black beans with avocado and red pepper wrapped in a tortilla. You could add any spices you want.
Brown rice, broccoli, and a pork chop cooked with thyme, rosemary, and garlic. Delicious.
I have a new found love of apples dipped in natural peanut butter (Smuckers has a great no-sugar added variety).
I've also been drinking massive amounts of water. And I gave the couple bottles of beer in my fridge to the neighbors.
So. There you go. It's going. I promise to be more intentional about taking pictures and posting recipes soon. :)
Oh. And I've already lost 5 pounds. [insert big smiley face here!]
Yay! So happy for you! You inspired me and I took my first walk today with Evelyn. Two miles later, I was exhausted. Time to get back in shape!
