I would encourage everyone who goes to NYC to visit a place called Eataly. It's an Italian market that also houses different types of restaurants. Rows of cheeses, meats, spices, noodles, wines, olive oils - its basically like heaven. We ended up there after a long day of walking the city. I ordered something (shown above) called Fritto Misto - seasonal vegetables fried in extra virgin olive oil. There were radishes, asparagus, some sort of spicy pepper, wax beans, whole green onions, zucchini and cauliflower. It was like the wet breading melted in my mouth with good lemony, garlicy deliciousness while the vegetables were still perfectly cooked.

Vacation of Good Eating
I just got back from New York City. We ate a lot of food.

My roommate's parents took us to a place called The Country Pancake House in Ridgewood, New Jersey. Also delicious. The pancakes, as you can see above, were huge, and delicious. My roommate had her usual eggs and potatoes. I had smoked salmon eggs benedict. It was a great breakfast. Good coffee too.
We also went to Brooklyn's Brick Oven Pizzeria. In New Jersey. It was my first time eating New York style pizza. It was delicious. We had half cheese and half pepperoni. I will say, though, my heart still belongs to Chicago-style pizza.
